Automated calls regarding alleged payment transactions or alleged fraud attempts

Scammers often target mobile phone owners. Where they obtained their phone number is unknown. The calls appear to be automated, based on a pre-established phone number list. Victims of this criminal scam receive unsolicited calls, usually from abroad. Spain and Italy are common countries of origin for such calls (within Europe). Those called hear a pre-recorded text, often from a computer-generated voice. This voice reports that they have been the victim of a possible fraud, that payments have already been made from their (PayPal) account, or, in other words, that there have been "suspicious" debits or incidents on their account. This is a lie.

The plastic sin

Plastic. A generic term for numerous plastics that humanity has developed over time. Made from petroleum with numerous additives, this plastic used for housing, auxiliary materials, and packaging is inexpensive to produce. It has sufficient density for most products, is stable enough for many occasions, and is waterproof. However, large quantities of plastic fail to find their way into the recycling program. Not all manufacturers worldwide adhere to manufacturing guidelines. These vast quantities produced for our consumer society ultimately pollute our environment from production to disposal. A plastic bag takes 20 years to decompose in nature. A stable plastic bottle (PET bottle) takes up to 450 years.
